THE OPPORTUNITY.
Now is your opportunity to be on the first phase of the FANHS National Museum Management Team. Your volunteering efforts will establish a critical foundation for the future of the museum. Coordinators will play a lead role in the museums operation and development. Each Coordinator will be responsible for success of the Museum through your managerial skills. The Museum Coordinator and Administrative Coordinator will be critical individual positions. All coordinators are expected to serve “as needed hours” per month. See the attached Volunteer Coordinator Descriptions for a general area of responsibility.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS.
Each applicant will be interviewed and asked why he or she wants to fill a particular position. THE SELECTION PROCESS.
All of the applicants for the six positions will be interviewed by the existing FANHS National Museum Chairperson and selected Museum Committee Members. The Museum Coordinator and Administrator will be key positions to fill. All questions and comments will be directed to Mel LaGasca.
THE POLICY MAKING, FANHS NATIONAL MUSEUM BOARD of DIRECTORS.
A FANHS National Museum Board is also in the development stage. Seven FANHS National Trustees have signed up to serve the new Museum Board. They will be given the opportunity to serve as a active voting Board Members or as Board Advisors. The final configuration of the new FANHS National Museum Board will be documented and presented to our National Director.
THE IMPORTANCE.
Your involvement at this level will help establish a basic foundation needed to determine how soon we move into actual operational space. The FANHS National Museum should provide an acceptable level of service and products to the public. A level we all can be proud of and something we can afford. You have a rare opportunity to be a shining example of personal dedication, leadership and a major contributor to the success of the first and founding FANHS National Museum. A Museum that will add value to society, a source of pride to all Filipino Americans and educate all who interact with it. As your

I. VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR DESCRIPTIONS:
1. MUSEUM COORDINATOR
* Review overall Museum Operation.
* Review Museum Budget and Fundraising.
* Manage Coordinator selection and training.
* Provide communications plan between FANHS Chapters.
* Create a FANHS National Museum Board, job description.
* Report to FANHS National Museum Chairperson.
* Minimum monthly volunteer hours needed: As needed.
2. ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR
* Assist, Museum coordinator, with daily operations.
* Maintain personnel records.
* Create Museum Reports / assist with Budget.
* Schedule Meetings.
* Design a personnel manual.
* Maintain: Business Hours, Vacation time and Travel calendar.
* Minimum monthly volunteer hours needed: As needed.
3. ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR
* Work with outside organizations on Museum current & future activities.
* Develop a Docents Committee and Volunteers Coordinator.
* Schedule visits, tours, field trips and rotating exhibits.
* Maintain activities calendar of tours and presentations.
* Create an Exhibits Coordinator/Committee position.
* Manage activities / Create budget.
* Minimum monthly volunteer hours needed: As needed.
4. MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR
* Create exhibits, displays and building fixtures.
* Plan HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, Security and facility changes .
* Work with other coordinators on facility issues.
* Develop a facility budget.
* Minimum monthly volunteer hours needed: As needed.
5. COLLECTIONS COORDINATOR
* Coordinate all exhibits, internally and with outside organizations.
* Develop a process to inventory all museum material and provide reports.
* Develop a budget and Minimum monthly volunteer hours: As needed.
6. FUND RAISING COORDINATOR
* Develop fundraising plans, programs, grant proposals and strategies.
* Budget: $1,200.00 annually for outside Accountant.
* Minimum monthly volunteer hours needed: As needed.
